Milestone: 5000 Runs – Paul Cake
Paul Cake’s knock of 46 in C Grade saw him surpass 5000 Senior Runs and move up to 16th on the club’s all time run scorers list.
Since retiring following the 2014/15 season, Paul returned to the field two weeks ago to play with son Brady on his C Grade debut.
‘Cakey’ retired 77 runs short of 5000 senior runs and with scores of 43 & 46, he has achieved this milestone in just two knocks back.
Batting Statistics:
– 5012 Senior Club Runs (16th)
– 2809 1st XI runs (17th)
– 3 centuries, 16 half centuries
Paul was/is pretty handy with the ball too, sitting 5th on 1st XI wickets (296) & 7th (419) in club wickets.
