B Grade – Moe v Imperials
With Moe’s second XI relegation last year, there’ll be a few first time meetings with previous TDCA clubs this season in the secondary B Grade division. Imps won the toss and batted in this first-time clash.
 Imperials Innings
Imperials inning was made up of four 20 odd run stands (1st, 5th, 8th & 9th) with the other six pairings sprinkling just 15 runs combined. Openers Paulet (13) & Williams (10) put on 24 for the first wicket before Daniel Farmer dismissed them both in his supremely economical spell of 2/7 from 8 overs. Bell (1) was bowled by Haydn Edwards (1/27 off 9) in one of the sprinkled pairings. Hegarty (8) was stumped by Brodyn Blandford off Jarryd Atkinson, and Jarvis (9) was somewhat unlucky to be caught & bowled by Atkinson given JA’s track record off of his own bowling!
Alam (13) fell with no change to the score to be to Ritvik’s (1/15) first wicket for the Moe CC! 6/59. One run later, Atkinson had his 3rd for 7/60. Moss (17), A.Donoghue (11) & Rickwood (14) got the Imps to three digits, all out for 105. Atkinson got a 4th (4/35 off 9) whilst Mark Whitney (1/7) & Bailey Wilson (1/12) picked up the last two wickets.
 Moe Innings
Moe’s 2nd XI batting woes looked like they were going to continue after a woeful start, falling to 4/19 with all dismissed batters being bowled Straughair 1, Oakley (0), Blandford 3, Wilson (0). Three of them fell to Dylan Loots, who took a brilliant 3/10 off his allotted 9 overs. Tylah Donoghue (1/10 off 7) bowled Oakley.Â
Braden Finn (55*) hit his first half century for Moe and carries an average of 104 after 3 rounds, only dismissed once so far (16, 33*, 55*). Jarryd Atkinson (31*) supported Finn as they chased down the target comfortably at a steady pace with 10 overs to spare. 4/108 (34.2).
The Lions get their first win in B’s for the year and move on to host Latrobe at Ted Summerton this Saturday.
