Moe vs Raiders at Racecourse
4th vs 2nd and equal on points, Raiders won the toss and batted in a potentially crucial game for both clubs’ seasons.
Raiders Innings:
Cheshire (13) & Burrows (28) got the visitors off to a solid start before a ridiculously economical Rob Phoenix (1/5 off 11) got the former as the games first scalp, caught by Grant. The same two combined with Phoenix catching Burrows off Grant (1/30 off 9). Royce Colgrave (1/12 off 5) in his first game since November dismissed Barney Webber (0) for an 11 ball duck.
Then it was the Taylor/Johnstone show for their secondary spells. The pair bowled a total of 39.1 overs combining for 7/52. Taylor took 4/26 off 18 on the back of last week’s 6fa and Johnstone took 3/26 off 21.1 overs.
A brilliant performance by our bowling attack and now it’s the batsmen’s turn.
Moe Innings:
Jesse Pheeney (0*) & Noah Kane (0*) did the first part successfully and saw off the tricky 3 over period before stumps, with 2 no balls the only Moe score before play ceased.
