Moe Innings-
Moe resumed at 1/3 (5) and from 1/19, things soon turned ugly. Kane (6), Grant (14), Baldi (2) & Philip (12) fell in a 4/22 collapse with Tim Ford taking a 5 wicket haul and Moe sitting 5/41. Rob Phoenix (6), dismissed by Ross Whelpdale was the last wicket before lunch.
Benn Zomer & Aaron Johnstone had the longest pairing of the innings, with Johnstone (12) out shortly after the resumption to end a 40 run stand. Jordan Shields stuck around with Zomer for 7 overs before Ford finished the innings with a hat trick, Shields (2) lbw, Colgrave (0) lbw & Taylor (0) bowled.
Zomer unbeaten on 47* was the only highlight on Day 2 for the Lions as Ford took a remarkable 8/20 off 23.3 overs for the Tigers. Whelpdale 2/44 (21) took the other wickets.
Summary:
What a turnaround for Morwell in two matches, from the relegation zone and now on the brink of finals but also less than one first innings result above relegation. Moe sit just inside the four after falling from 2nd with this loss. After Morwell rolled them for 44 two weeks ago, Toongabbie got a big win of their own over CATS yesterday to also move out of the relegation zone by 1pt. This competition is fascinating with both finals and relegation narratives simultaneously possible for most teams with just 3 rounds to go.
