Premier C Grade – vs Centrals (H)
Centrals Innings:
Foley (46) & Gibbons (37) got the visitors to 1/75 before the innings fell apart for them. Just Gamage (11) made double figures as Centrals lost 8/47 to close at 9/122 from their 40 overs. Wickets were shared around with Paul Cake (2/12), Ron Whitney (2/21), Aiden Savige (2/23) & Hayden Edwards (2/36) all taking two each. Brady Cake (1/11) took the opening wicket of the game.
Moe Innings:
Not for the first time, it was an inning of starts for Moe, but a comfortable run chase. De Vent (13), Paul Cake (17) and Brodyn Blandford (9) got the hosts to 3/58. Shannon Murphy (25) & Mustafa Glibanovic (23) added 36 for the 4th wicket to set Moe up for victory, before both fell in quick succession (5/97).
Kye Micallef (4) was last out, as Edwards (18*) & Savige (6*) showed great composure, getting Moe to the total with over 5 overs to spare.
Two good wins over an opposition team we’ve had some good battles against since the initial LVDCL merge, including 2 A Grade semi finals. The two clubs created a unique experience last season with B (9am) & C (3pm) double headers at each venue.
